Real Life Sundays, ed. 23

Yeah, generally life is.  But I will come clean and admit this:

I was so bored of myself yesterday!

After watching 4 hours of boxing on $60 pay per view, topped with the dismal ending of Pacquiao running into Marquez's fist and getting knocked out cold, I finally felt super bored!  So bored, that the only way to escape it was...
No, not to do something productive...
But to sleep it off, hoping that by the time I woke up, I'd be less bored.

After a couple of hours of "napping," I woke up...  still feeling...  bored.  I then invited my little sister to grab some yummy cupcakes with me but she just wanted to stay home...  Geezzz...  So, I ended up sleeping early to end my boring day.

Here's the 60 bucks Pacquiao made us regret spending...  hehehe!
Hey Mr. Manny, if you are reading this, know that I still love you!

♥♥♥

On the bright side, I was thankful of being bored, since it only happens sometimes.  It meant that I was finally not hip-deep in work and not feeling overwhelmed. ^^

Anyway, I had a wonderful Saturday!  I had an amazing dinner with a couple of wonderful friends, whom I feel super-duper blessed to have ^____^  *Sighs*  everyone needs a kindred spirit~~  someone to share your interests, beliefs, and love of food :9

Some people- not the viewers of this blog, thank you very much- like to complain about food posts, saying that they are lame and stuff.  I think those people are being just plain silly.  With food so good lookin', who wouldn't want to see?  So, yep!  I am not even slightly apologetic for any of my food pictures.  :P

♥♥♥

Lastly, today!  I had a good time teaching the kiddies.  They make me laugh and smile a lot (inside), although, I do like to act strict and constipated around them.  But they are cool with me and I am cool with them so life is good.  Real good.

Hehehe!

Our classroom door with all them snowflakes
Yes! We have a fireplace to hang our stockings on!  ^_^

It's the adults who are kooky.  For example, I went to DFS today to buy a purse for my darling little sis.  The ladies at the stall did not take the initiative to help me out until I asked them.  When I finally asked for the price, one of them told me, "There's the sale section at the back."  "Ok... lady," I thought.  And throughout the experience, she kept on pointing out to me that there were cheaper stuff in the store.  At the end of my purchase, she said, "This is one of the higher end ones."

Ok.....?  (-_______-)

If she was so gang-ho about making me purchase the cheaper ones and saving me $$, why did she not give me discount when I asked for it?  I guess I looked such like a commoner?  I wonder what gave me away...  Hmmm...  Was it my non-brand bag?  Or was it my shoes that looked like they've been chewed by a dinosaur?  Oh well, maybe I'll never know.  All I know is I bought what I wanted and it was "one of the higher end ones."

But I end this post in a positive note!  My sister and I went to minister with our church's young adult group.  We handed out chips, water, and Bibles to college students who were studying for their finals.  They were so kind and gracious.  Bless their sweet hearts♡♡  ^___^

That's it, everyone!  Good night!

The Only Thing More Romantic

Dedicated to my Mother and Father
who have just celebrated their 35th anniversary
Your promise to God
Your faithfulness to each other
and Your gift to your children.

When I see you and think about what you've been through, nothing rings more true than that one simple line I remember reading from Pastor Ravi Zacharias' I, Isaac, take Thee, Rebekah.  "The only thing more romantic than newly weds... is oldly weds."

You are an example to all of us.

That resilient love- completely different from Hollywood's one hour and a half version played by two physically attractive people, but by two real people with imperfections in difficult (to say the least) situations, that had no "Happily Ever After" when you both said, "I do."

That lasting love- that passed the test of time when everything around us is becoming more and more temporal.

That generous love- poured unto your children, that never held back.

When I look at you, I remember that I, too, yearn for a love that lasts and is faithful.  And I would someday say, "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine"- words that so describe your 35 years together.

To another 35 years!
I love you, Mama and Papa!

Real Life Sunday, ed. 19

Happy Anniversary to my church!♥♥♥

Yay!  Performances!  Food!  Dancin'!  Parteh!  Adult prom!  The gents, and most certainly, the ladies got really dressed up.  ^-^  For the first time in a long time, I actually felt underdressed!  Wuh-hat???  Can you believe???  Well, you better believe it!

My A-line dress.  My friend, who is a guy, actually helped
me go shopping for this.  Friends like him are the bomb!
Make-up of the Night: drama on the eyes and played down
the lips.
This angel was my hair inspo.  Isn't she simply lovely?! ^0^
Whee! for the last performance of the night.  They did a swell job!
And it didn't hurt that my older sister played the cajon. ^.^
Dance!  Dance!  Dance!
I didn't :(  because I'm lame like that...

Going a bit random on the photo timeline here.  Bear with me, ok?

Lunch at Tony Roma's because someone (the girl on the left) won us
gift certificates!  Whoo!
I did mention that I love retro red lips!  Yes!  Sporting MAC
lipstick in Russian Red!
Have I ever mentioned that I was a BIG nerd before college?  Then one day, I picked up the paint brush and switched it for a make-up brush.  And voila!  But of course, nerd will always be a part of me.  ^-^
Shhhh....  I cheated here and made my eyes big!  0.0
Coming clean here, folks!  But makes for such a better picture :D
Happy Things!
Raspberry Kit-Kat, anyone?  Verily, verily!  ^-^
You know that you're obsessed when you have two shoebox-ful of nail polishes.
I actually never knew I had this many until I organized them...  I SO had to
stop buying!   :/

I had a terrific week!  (Thank God!)  Even work began to feel better, smell sweeter.  *sigh*  I'm happy and content, and yep!  Even with my nail polish collection.

The church anniversary was also very nice.  It was a new experience for me.  I didn't attend my prom in high school at all, so it was nice to experience something like it.  Hahaha!  But I also found that I feel loneliest in crowded rooms.  Some people thrive in parties, while others, including myself, hide in parties.  It's all preference, really^-^

But I also found that simple dinners and meaningful conversations make my heart smile.  I just came from one tonight.  And my heart smiled.  And it didn't hurt, didn't hurt at all that---.

Well, that's it for tonight!
Good night!
And have a blast for the rest of the week!

Real Life Sunday, ed. 18

I will make this fast.  I need to do some hw.  T-----T

I'll just post photos, then I'm outta here!

My new holographic nail polish collection that I previously talked about.  I'm done with this
nail polish business!  Any more, and I must vow to open a nail salon.
Crazy hairdo for church.  It's supposed to be effortlessly Bohemian...
like I said "supposed to be."
Had a wonderful heart-to-heart with my sis with TeaPosy blooming tea.
I wish we do these kind of things more often...
It felt good to finally domesticate myself and cook some lunch for Ma and me.
I haven't cooked since summer.  :(

Shoot!  I'm logging out, blogging peeps!

Real Life Sunday, ed. 17

Thank you for those who actually check out my blog from time to time.  Although my following is really small, I feel very encouraged that when I do check my blog's viewer stats, there are actually people who stop by.  ^___^  Sometimes, I wonder why, especially when I go on my hiatus.  But since you do, I won't wonder so much and simply thank you!  ^___^

I've been writing a lot about my life.  I will try to review a couple of old circle lenses later (hopefully, this weekend or the one following that).  But I do not want to be so apologetic because I work... and I've been working really hard and come home very tired.  When I finally do have the time to blog, it's been a form of therapy to de-stress from my day.  And the easiest topic for me to write about is to actually talk about me and how my day/week has been, although I'm hoping to be more mindful of my viewers but am just waiting for the right time.

That was lengthy...

But it's all ok with you, yah?

I really look forward to weekends to unwind...  Although, I am pretty busy then also, I welcome change.  :)

Last week, I celebrated the birthday of my beloved Korean sister.  I was almost raised by her for seven years but I haven't been seeing her recently.  So, it's nice to get to surprise her. ^_^

Check out those bags!  You can put nickels in them...

Peace out!
Then the following day, my sisters and I tried a new restaurant, En Japanese Restaurant in Tumon.  The food was delicious!  I'm not too much into sushi (because the rice feels so heavy) but En's made me rethink that a bit.

Beautiful paintings!

The restaurant even had quotable quotes hanging on the walls.

This was Sunday:
Ready for church.

Another letter to my dear Syuzi.  I'd like to introduce her to you one of these days.

My holographic nail polishes finally came in.  I will take a photo later.
It was pretty excessive of me to purchase them.
Lastly, dinner tonight: Carmen's Cha-Cha-Cha in Hagatna!
Mole sauce is definitely BOSS!  :9
Until next time, everyone!
Thank you so much again for reading along!  :)

Real Life Sundays, ed. 10: Happy Birthday.... to Me!

It was my birthday a few days ago ^_^  It's great to celebrate with family and friends!

Another quiet summer morning, but I have to busy up to plan for a special event.  But that's after I post these photos.  Yay!  ^-^

I really did not intend to gift myself, but I did not have a phone for a month... hehehe!
I finally surrendered to buying an iPhone after years of playing
hard-to-get.  My world opened to super cooooooool photo
apps!

Curly candles and delicious banana split cake.  Yay for frozen bananas!

♥ Paper lanterns.

♫My girls, my girls♫

Stationery junkie ^_________^

From my other Korean unni.  Will write a review someday~

Thanks for being so sweet, friends

Found this at the back of the fridge last night.  I forgot all
about it! Langue de chat (Lengua de gato in Spanish), literally
means "Cat's tongue. "Don't worry it's a delicate shortbread.
^_^  This one has custard filling. Ultimate yum!

I feel happy being another year older as I look forward to the many great things I've yet to do and see and the lives of people I will be involved in.  I thank God for everyone and everything that He has blessed me with.  He is truly so faithful that I see His faithfulness being so tangible and real in every part of my life.

I also want to thank my readers for allowing me to be a part of their lives.  I keep on writing because of you!  ^___^

Just food for thought and a promise that will never fade:

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28
