My Beauty Faves, ed. 3

Tried and True

I've got these products for a while now and have been wanting to write about them.  They are fantastic things for the face and have nearly been fool-proof ("nearly" because like nobody, nothin' is perfect).

K-Palette 1-Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyepencil in Black
What I love about it?
This pencil liner is super smooth!  It glides effortlessly on my skin and doesn't tug at all- saving myself from wrinkles.  The color is very dark too.  If I want lasting eyeliner, I put this on first and follow it with liquid liner.  The only down side of this product is that there isn't much product in that long pencil.  :(  Looks are quite deceptive.
Lancome Teint Miracle
What I love about it?
This foundation has a very light and watery consistency.  Which is amazing because it has fantastic coverage!  (Neither too light nor heavy).  It also photographs very well.  I like using it on special occasions.

Lancome Bienfait Multi-Vital
What I love about it?
This daytime moisturizer has been the best for my skin.  It is also very light and does not feel sticky on my face.  It also has SPF 35 so it gently protects my skin and prevents wrinkles.
Dolly Wink 02 Volume Mascara in Black
What I love about it?
I am an avid fan of Dolly Wink's volume mascara because it really delivers!  When they talk about volume, it is serious business.  The brush has changed from their purple version, so I was skeptical at first.  However, the change seems to be for the better.  ^^  I will write a more comprehensive review sometime in the arbitrary future.  Hehehe... ^^;;

 Promising Finds

I also found these products that seem to soon be included on my Beauty Faves list.  I've used them for only a few times but they have been really good! ^_^

Holika Holika Face 2 Change Liquid Roller BB Cream in #2
What I love about it?
I've only used this twice and so far.  Although it seems to be slightly fairer than my skin color, it eventually blends with my color as the day progresses.  The roller feature is fun to use as it evenly distributes the product.
Nerium Night Cream
What I love about it?
Have you heard of this?  It's supposed to be a miracle in a bottle.  I was hesitant at first because it costs quite a lot: $80 for 30 mL, monthly.  But when I saw the results on my friend, I was sold.  Her spots and pimples faded within 5 weeks!  Amazing!  So, I'm on my way with creating my own testimony about it.  I've tried it for 5 days and I can say that my pores have become smaller and the texture of my skin smoother.  Also my pimple scars faded a bit.  I'm excited to see more results.
Lancome Rouge in Love in 353M
What I love about it?
I've got two problems with lip colors: 1) Lipstick color lasts but dries the lips 2) Tinted lip balm moisturizes my lips but the color quickly disappears.
This lipstick seems to be the best thing to bring both of these worlds together.  It's buttery and moisturizing while having that intense and beautiful color that stays. ^^

CIRCLE LENSES TO REVIEW

These just came in the mail and they are very comfortable.  The 3rd circle lenses are sponsored by Loveshoppingholics.  They are going to be my first sponsored anything ^_^  I haven't opened them yet but I am excited.

Geo Medical Eyes Cream in Vanilla Brown

G&G/Dueba Shinny Puffy 3 Tone in Gray
Candy Pop in Blue
iii
I used most of these products in this photo, with my foundation as the Holika Holika BB Cream.

Giyomi yourself to sleep.  Good night!

Update:
I changed my portraits here because the previous' photos were so yellow.  (-____-)  That's what cooks my turkey with my camera- stupid color references unless it's sunlight.  Oh!  And I also blurred my armpits. ;)  I got SO bothered when I saw them so gray and so gross!  I've just saved you from any psychological trauma those pits would have made.

Products Used and Other Cosmetic-Love Mini Reviews

I now feel confident of posting my extra large photos. :)

That's a great thing because I used to have so much redness and tiny pock marks that I was ashamed of my photos. ☹

A confident blogger is a happy blogger.

Just as promised, a list of the products on my photo from the last post.  This post will also serve as a mini-review.

Mini Review for Etude House Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Color in PK002
(from Cosmetic-Love)

You'll be wanting to take a lick because of its sweet strawberry scent but try not to!  It is a multi-purpose product- color for lips, eyes, and cheeks.  It gave a very subtle color on my cheeks, like a natural flush.  But you may have to apply much because the color is very soft.   I did not like its application on my lips because the color does not stay put and makes every crack and crease so obvious.  I haven't tried it on my eyes.

Missha Art Designing Cashmere Loose Powder in No. 2 Natural Beige
(from Cosmetic-Love)

I love how it's light and quite translucent on my skin.  The color of mine is No. 2 Natural Beige, which is a warm beige color.  It is lightly scented- quite reminiscent of rubbing alcohol- which I really don't mind.  The coverage is light.  I think it's good for sensitive skin because I haven't broken out, which happens when I try on new products.

♥♥♥

When I put on make-up, I am always fascinated by the transformation although I've done it a million times.  I love seeing our strongest assets and making them even more noticeable and taking our weakest features and making them better.  That's the power of cosmetics- which actually came from the Greek word for "cosmos"- making sense out of chaos.

Colorful Lips

Let's talk about bold colors!
And have everyone staring...
at our lips!

So, I got them traditional reds and pinks to scooch over and make way for oranges and wines.

BRING OUT THE COLORS!

Clinique Chubby Stick in Two Ton Tomato
Details: Wonderfully moisturizing since it's a balm, but there's
a significant hint of color that goes on sheer.  Total love!

★★★
MAC Satin lipstick in Rebel.
Details: Satin finish but goes on bold that I personally
think gives of a mature but fun pop of color to my look.
(Lip colors oftentimes look fuschia on me because of
my skin tone, or in this case, combined with the lighting
and the camera.)

★★★
MAC Amplified lipstick in Vegas Volt
Details: Thick and creamy formula that boasts intense color.
I love it for sweet, innocent looks, but sometimes it looks funny
to be sporting orange lips.  Hehehe!

And with lips so bright, combine them with a more subdued eye make-up: going easy on the eyeshadow where I just highlighted the inner corners of my eyes and added taupe to the crease to add more depth; then, finishing it off with cat eye eye-lining; mascara is not always necessary.

K-Palette 1 Hour Tattoo Eyeliner Review

I love you, everyone!

It's nearly 12 o'clock and why in the world am I still awake?  I'm a teacher who's gotta get up early tomorrow, for crying out loud!  But here I am.  And it's all because I love y'all.

I promised a review, hence, I give you a review. :P

So.....

Yes!  Review!

K-Palette 1 Hour Tattoo Eyeliner Review

What it claims:
Designed to stay smudge-proof and tear-resistant throughout busy days and nights, this cutting edge formula applies smoothly and dries quickly, producing a weightless, lasting finish that is predictably worry-free.  Packaged with K-Palette's patented micro-fiber brush for precise application.*
It also claims:

  • Smudge-proof and tear-resistant formula
  • One of Japan's top selling eyeliner
  • Easy to use for quick morning touch-ups and dramatic evening looks
  • Patented micro-fibre brush for precise control
  • Does not penetrate your skin
  • Sensitive eyes safe
  • No reapplication required, Stays on until you are ready to take it off
  • Removed by warm water, No makeup remover required*

Color:
5/5  It's a good, solid black color.  It may not be the darkest ink out there, but it does the job well!

Formula Consistency:
5/5  I like how the ink doesn't flake as much as Dolly Wink's liquid eyeliner.  The formula is light but thick enough.  One swipe is all you need, unless you're aiming for a darker hue.  The formula glides smoothly, too, and does not skip.

Ease of Removal:
5/5  Very easy to remove with warm water or make-up remover.

Brush:
5/5  The brush is amazing!  It gives very beautiful, calligraphic precision.  I can make thick or thin lines with ease.  And because it is a pen type, there is more control!

Tenacity/Lasting Power:
3/5  It is a great eyeliner!  It remains tenacious with water and gentle rubbing.  However, I am taking off 2 points.  Why?  Because if they claim to be a "24-Hour Tattoo," they better be truthful.  And unfortunately, it would not last me 24 hours.  It fades overtime due to sweat, sebum, tears in the corner of my eyes, or with eye drops.  Hence, touch-up is required.  Other bloggers say that it lasts them, but I guess Guam climate is the ultimate test. :)

Swatch: Observe the thick and thin lines it creates.  The color is good, too.
Test #1: Does not budge by splashing it with water.
Test #2: Removes really easily when rubbing while wet.
Test #3: When dry, if you rub gently, it will not come off.
But with a lot more elbow grease, it will rub off.
Test #4: Since I do use eyedrops and tear from time to time, I tested the eyeliner
with contact lens solution.  It will not come off by just splashing it, but comes off
very, very easily when rubbed.

Other Concerns:
I got my K-Paletter eyeliner in Japan so I don't know how readily available it is in your nation.  It is available in many online stores but may be pricey depending on the store you shop from.  For example, it is just about $20 in Shoppingholics.com but Sasa.com sells it for only $15.70.
I really like it!  And personally I think it is a better buy than Dolly Wink.  I would repurchase it if I find a more reasonably priced one.  It's great, too, when you're on the go!  I would rate it 4/5!

Look of the Day

With Dolly Wink No.10 Sweet Cat false eyelashes.

I like this angle- makes my nose look taller :)

Pardon the background >.<  There's a lot of construction
happening lately, and the best lighting I have is from the
sun.  But yay! for sunny days!  It's been awfully rainy.

I wanted to do a Snow White look because pin-up make-up focuses on eyelining a lot.  But my friend said I look like Alice in Wonderland.  That totally changed how I was seeing this...  Oh well...
But iPhone does my look justice.  Yay!

Etude House Proof 10 Liquid Liner in #1 Proof Black Review

I wanted to kill two birds with one stone tonight by writing a review and making a tutorial, but little did I know that the details of making a tutorial was tough!  >___<  And my images are blurry.  Oh well... we'll see someday... Plus, I think I am amateur much to be able to guide you well enough with a tutorial.  :P  What do you say?

So, tonight will only be my review on Etude House Proof 10 Liquid Liner in #1 Proof Black.

A Little Background
I got this from BB Cream Boutique a while back, so I don't know if they've restocked yet.  I've thrown away my Dolly Wink eyeliner :(  but this is a good product, too.  My sister and I learned about this when she purchased it from the Philippines... for $20!!  During my college days, that was a king's ransom!  (hehehe!  I exaggerate so.  But I didn't have a job, ok?)  But I think it will please you to know that at BB Cream Boutique, it is a mere $9.99  XD <(nice!)

So, here we go!

Formula
The formula is great because it can last for nearly the entire day, even better than Dolly Wink!  It won't budge off even when it gets wet or with sebum unless you rub it.  But sometimes, because my eyes become really teary and crusty because of wearing contacts (I know, yuck! :( ), my winged tips do slightly disappear.  The color is an intense black.  The consistency of the formula really fascinates me because I have seen absolutely NO American drugstore brand equivalent to it, in which this formula is a little jelly-like (not inky), does not fade away, and will not give panda eyes.

Brush
The brush is really small and thin for making nice skinny lines, but I have a hard time with these pot-and-brush types because it is not as efficient as pen types, where you'd have to set down the pot before you can line your eyes.

Pros
Glides on smoothly.
Intense black color.
Thick consistency.
Waterproof.
Easy to remove with warm water, make-up remover, or if you rub it off.
Affordable price!  ^.^d

Cons
May come off with teary eyes like mine.
Not pen type.

Conclusion
A recommended buy because you don't waste $$$!  You can get yours HERE!  Also, BB Cream Boutique has stocked up on A LOT of new items.  Enjoy your shopping! ^___^

I am not paid to write this review nor am I an agent of BB Cream Boutique

UPDATE:

Etude House Proof 10 Liquid Liner's formula has changed and... it's not as good and more expensive.  Actually, I'm disappointed as to why they've changed it :(  Review to come later.

Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner in Deep Black Review

Review TIME!!  Take Two!

I'm on a roll~ ^^

This product doesn't need a lot of introduction, especially since it's such a hot item!  Seriously, mine is just one of sooooo many!

Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner in Deep Black Review

Formula
It's great how it glides without skipping, spilling, frustrations, depressions, upsets, POs, so on... :P  The color goes on well and sufficiently dark black.  It can stay for a long time, but does smudge off with extended wear and sebum :(  Easy removal with warm water or make-up remover makes clean-up quick ^^  Formula lasts for quite a while.

Brush
Dolly Wink's design is amazing with its precision brush; good enough for doing some Chinese calligraphy!  It's great for making thin lines, and because it's a pen-type, drawing is really easy and efficient.

Pros
Applies on smoothly.
Nice dark black color.
Waterproof in most occasions.
Easy to remove with warm water or make-up remover.
Great brush!
Amount of formula in the product lasts.

Cons
Not entirely waterproof.
Can come off with extended wear and sebum.
Can be expensive: $17-$19

Conclusion
Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner has been my go-to eyeliner for a long time now.  Its brush makes "eyelining" quick and efficient, that's why I love it so much.  I wish to buy again but it can be a little pricey, and I've already bought a cheaper one, but of great quality, by Etude House.  The formula is really good too because it's waterproof for most occasions.  I found out today that it doesn't stand a chance to Guam's torrential downpour!  ☂☂☂  From the parking lot to the school building, I ended up soaking wet and with a bit of a fever T^T And that's why I am home right now, having the time for these reviews.  ^____^

Hey there, beautiful!

Test Shots and Products for Future Reviews

Testing, testing, 1-2-3.

The camera makes a difference in how well the photo turns up!  Thanks to my Ate for letting me borrow her camera! ^^

I'm kind of hard on myself when it comes to doing things :(  (I should cut myself slack more...)  But I am quite happy because the following photos are much better than my point-and-shoot.

Here are a few photos of things I want to review someday soon~ :)
