Products Used and Other Cosmetic-Love Mini Reviews

I now feel confident of posting my extra large photos. :)

That's a great thing because I used to have so much redness and tiny pock marks that I was ashamed of my photos. ☹

A confident blogger is a happy blogger.

Just as promised, a list of the products on my photo from the last post.  This post will also serve as a mini-review.

Mini Review for Etude House Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Color in PK002
(from Cosmetic-Love)

You'll be wanting to take a lick because of its sweet strawberry scent but try not to!  It is a multi-purpose product- color for lips, eyes, and cheeks.  It gave a very subtle color on my cheeks, like a natural flush.  But you may have to apply much because the color is very soft.   I did not like its application on my lips because the color does not stay put and makes every crack and crease so obvious.  I haven't tried it on my eyes.

Missha Art Designing Cashmere Loose Powder in No. 2 Natural Beige
(from Cosmetic-Love)

I love how it's light and quite translucent on my skin.  The color of mine is No. 2 Natural Beige, which is a warm beige color.  It is lightly scented- quite reminiscent of rubbing alcohol- which I really don't mind.  The coverage is light.  I think it's good for sensitive skin because I haven't broken out, which happens when I try on new products.

♥♥♥

When I put on make-up, I am always fascinated by the transformation although I've done it a million times.  I love seeing our strongest assets and making them even more noticeable and taking our weakest features and making them better.  That's the power of cosmetics- which actually came from the Greek word for "cosmos"- making sense out of chaos.

Innisfree Real Skin Color Control Cream Review

What's it gonna be?

(not my photo)

I read that it will depend on your needs, however, the difference between BB Creams and CC Creams is very subtle.  Personally, I thinks it's a marketing scheme (how naughty of me!)

According to Sephora.com and from personal experiences, BB Cream provides a heavier coverage whereas CC Cream gives a lighter, more natural finish.  BOTH are for brightening, anti-aging, moisturizing, and sun-protection.

So, here we are, with the luxury to actually try out any one of these products.  And after contemplating of which CC Cream to purchase, I decided on Innisfree Real Skin Color Control SPF 30 PA++ from Cosmetic-Love and is wonderfully affordable at $18.43.

It claims:
"... contained with magic color capsules modifies and adjusts to your natural skin tone on contact, creating a vibrant healthy glow."*
 Other benefits:

  • Brightens skin with Jeju camellia ingredient
  • Creates a protective veil to moisturize skin all day long
  • Protects against UV rays
  • Smoothly adheres to skin to create a flawless look**

The Good:
  • Reasonably priced at less than $20 at Cosmetic-Love website.
  • Light herbal scent- not like perfume
  • Very lightweight
  • Color changes to match your skin tone
  • Significantly brightens the skin, giving off a dewy finish
  • No ashiness
  • Stays on for nearly the entire day
  • SPF and anti-aging benefits
The Bad:
  • Its dewiness can look greasy (which can be fixed with powder)
  • Very light coverage
Conclusion
My skin has not reacted negatively with this product, such as pimples.  I feel that the ingredients are really natural because it does not smell like perfume and it feels very light on my skin.  Because I am recently not breaking out, I just put this CC Cream on and counter the dewy finish with loose powder.  Update: I am not very satisfied with it, however, because of it's too light coverage.

Left: CC cream goes on white.  Right: Matches the skin tone when blended well.   There is more brightness as compared to the area without the product.

Left: A very naked face- trouble areas are the glabella, dark circles, and redness around the nose.  Right: There really isn't much of a difference because of the CC cream's light coverage but it did make my face brighter and fairer.
To make some sense of my bare, lack-luster face, I put on concealer, loose powder, and a bunch of other potions on my face. :)

I will list down the other products I used here on another post.  Many of them were from my Cosmetic-Love haul. :)

Have a good day!

Not a Zombie Look

I just finished reading World War Z.

I must say after reading the book, I am terrified of watching the movie.  The book was very graphic, and I am debating whether I should just leave that to the imagination because movies create so much more visual impact.  And honestly, I am a chicken!  I hate not being able to sleep at night!  D:

Anyway, I felt inspired to do a dark make-up look.  Just dark.  Because there was so much darkness in the story.

You may be disappointed to know that it didn't turn out to be zombie-esque at all.  It turned out to be some kind of a hot clubbing look.  Hahaha!  XD

Oh well~~~  take it or leave it.

Real Life Sundays, ed. 29

*Takes a deep breath*

Summer is in the air!  And it's vacation!  Lovely lovely lovely

Well, I've actually been on summer break since 3 weeks ago.  Hahaha!  You know how I am and my 3 reasons as to why I have not been blogging:

  1. I'm too busy.
  2. I'm too lazy.
  3. I just don't wanna.
During my first week of vacation, I was on jury duty.  It's an interesting experience because it's my first time but definitely mind-numbing.  I was so good and patient my first day of sitting for nearly 8 hours, listening to the attorneys repeat their questions to each one of the multitudes of the jury selection attendees.  But after my second day, you should have heard me gripe!  My brain was so numb, I could not feel my scalp anymore.  I am not exaggerating at all!  I prayed and I prayed to be dismissed.  And how I will end this story is that God listens and now I am free to blog about my fantastic life.  :D

Second week was meetings upon meetings and networking with people to organize united church bonfires.  Super fun but I was fighting a lot of discouraging thoughts.  The battle is always first in the mind.  But thank God that everything fell through smoothly.

Anyway, I am planning to blog a little more often than just once a month for this summer break.  Hehehe!  Really can't wait to getting with that CC Cream review and some beauty tips that I've learned recently.  But although it's summer, my weeks are pretty jam-packed.  So, I guess we all will just have to wait after all... =S

That's all for now~

Ooooh~ but first let me show you my cool photos to see what's up with me.

My Pa's birthday evening.  The beach here has the softest sand ^_^

Sister went to Japan- gave her about $100 to buy me my cosmetics.
