My Beauty Faves, ed. 3

Tried and True

I've got these products for a while now and have been wanting to write about them.  They are fantastic things for the face and have nearly been fool-proof ("nearly" because like nobody, nothin' is perfect).

K-Palette 1-Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyepencil in Black
What I love about it?
This pencil liner is super smooth!  It glides effortlessly on my skin and doesn't tug at all- saving myself from wrinkles.  The color is very dark too.  If I want lasting eyeliner, I put this on first and follow it with liquid liner.  The only down side of this product is that there isn't much product in that long pencil.  :(  Looks are quite deceptive.
Lancome Teint Miracle
What I love about it?
This foundation has a very light and watery consistency.  Which is amazing because it has fantastic coverage!  (Neither too light nor heavy).  It also photographs very well.  I like using it on special occasions.

Lancome Bienfait Multi-Vital
What I love about it?
This daytime moisturizer has been the best for my skin.  It is also very light and does not feel sticky on my face.  It also has SPF 35 so it gently protects my skin and prevents wrinkles.
Dolly Wink 02 Volume Mascara in Black
What I love about it?
I am an avid fan of Dolly Wink's volume mascara because it really delivers!  When they talk about volume, it is serious business.  The brush has changed from their purple version, so I was skeptical at first.  However, the change seems to be for the better.  ^^  I will write a more comprehensive review sometime in the arbitrary future.  Hehehe... ^^;;

 Promising Finds

I also found these products that seem to soon be included on my Beauty Faves list.  I've used them for only a few times but they have been really good! ^_^

Holika Holika Face 2 Change Liquid Roller BB Cream in #2
What I love about it?
I've only used this twice and so far.  Although it seems to be slightly fairer than my skin color, it eventually blends with my color as the day progresses.  The roller feature is fun to use as it evenly distributes the product.
Nerium Night Cream
What I love about it?
Have you heard of this?  It's supposed to be a miracle in a bottle.  I was hesitant at first because it costs quite a lot: $80 for 30 mL, monthly.  But when I saw the results on my friend, I was sold.  Her spots and pimples faded within 5 weeks!  Amazing!  So, I'm on my way with creating my own testimony about it.  I've tried it for 5 days and I can say that my pores have become smaller and the texture of my skin smoother.  Also my pimple scars faded a bit.  I'm excited to see more results.
Lancome Rouge in Love in 353M
What I love about it?
I've got two problems with lip colors: 1) Lipstick color lasts but dries the lips 2) Tinted lip balm moisturizes my lips but the color quickly disappears.
This lipstick seems to be the best thing to bring both of these worlds together.  It's buttery and moisturizing while having that intense and beautiful color that stays. ^^

CIRCLE LENSES TO REVIEW

These just came in the mail and they are very comfortable.  The 3rd circle lenses are sponsored by Loveshoppingholics.  They are going to be my first sponsored anything ^_^  I haven't opened them yet but I am excited.

Geo Medical Eyes Cream in Vanilla Brown

G&G/Dueba Shinny Puffy 3 Tone in Gray
Candy Pop in Blue
iii
I used most of these products in this photo, with my foundation as the Holika Holika BB Cream.

Giyomi yourself to sleep.  Good night!

Update:
I changed my portraits here because the previous' photos were so yellow.  (-____-)  That's what cooks my turkey with my camera- stupid color references unless it's sunlight.  Oh!  And I also blurred my armpits. ;)  I got SO bothered when I saw them so gray and so gross!  I've just saved you from any psychological trauma those pits would have made.

Real Life Sundays, ed. 31

I have to git going soon because I have to paint my classroom tomorrow in preparation of the new school year.  Say what???  Yes, apparently, painting our classrooms is part of our job description as a teacher.

Haha!

Just joking.  Only if we want our bleak-looking rooms to look all purrty.

Yep!  And it's almost 2 am here.  D:

Been having fun cooking so I could take cute photos and add some digital stamps to show-off on Facebook. ^.^

My lovely and smart doggy-woggy Kobe ^3^  She likes to husks coconuts for fun.
Don't worry, although she's tied in this photo she gets plenty of exercise because we play together or we
release her to play by herself.

Then my little sister and I had a little photo-op, showing off our new hairdos and clothes ^___^
Sisters are the bomb, aren't they?
Dress: Street market (Namdaemoon, Korea)
Shoes: Nine West
Dress: Forever 21 (Philippines)
Shoes: Nine West
Being all chiyo with our hair
Unabashed selcas at Ross

One more post after this because I just have to!

PS
Thank you, Ate Lerma♥  I've forgotten the access to my old email but I heard that you read my blog.  Thank you so much for your eager love.  I miss you immensely.  I want to see you soon.  I will... :)

Products Used and Other Cosmetic-Love Mini Reviews

I now feel confident of posting my extra large photos. :)

That's a great thing because I used to have so much redness and tiny pock marks that I was ashamed of my photos. ☹

A confident blogger is a happy blogger.

Just as promised, a list of the products on my photo from the last post.  This post will also serve as a mini-review.

Mini Review for Etude House Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Color in PK002
(from Cosmetic-Love)

You'll be wanting to take a lick because of its sweet strawberry scent but try not to!  It is a multi-purpose product- color for lips, eyes, and cheeks.  It gave a very subtle color on my cheeks, like a natural flush.  But you may have to apply much because the color is very soft.   I did not like its application on my lips because the color does not stay put and makes every crack and crease so obvious.  I haven't tried it on my eyes.

Missha Art Designing Cashmere Loose Powder in No. 2 Natural Beige
(from Cosmetic-Love)

I love how it's light and quite translucent on my skin.  The color of mine is No. 2 Natural Beige, which is a warm beige color.  It is lightly scented- quite reminiscent of rubbing alcohol- which I really don't mind.  The coverage is light.  I think it's good for sensitive skin because I haven't broken out, which happens when I try on new products.

♥♥♥

When I put on make-up, I am always fascinated by the transformation although I've done it a million times.  I love seeing our strongest assets and making them even more noticeable and taking our weakest features and making them better.  That's the power of cosmetics- which actually came from the Greek word for "cosmos"- making sense out of chaos.

Face: Innisfree Real Skin Color Control Cream, Almay Line Smoothing Concealer in LightMissha Art Designing Cashmere Loose Powder in No. 2 Natural Beige
Cheeks: Etude House Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Color in PK002
Eyes: Etude House Sweet Eye Cupcake 3 Peach and Honey, Etude House Bling Bling Eye Stick in 1 Shooting Star, Clinique Color Surge Eyeshadow Quad in Chocolate Chip, Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner in Black, Daiso false lashes in Natural
Eyebrows: NYX Eyebrow Pencil in Brown
Lips: Etude House Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Color in PK002, Anna Sui Lipgloss 304 (Candy Pink)

Not a Zombie Look

I just finished reading World War Z.

I must say after reading the book, I am terrified of watching the movie.  The book was very graphic, and I am debating whether I should just leave that to the imagination because movies create so much more visual impact.  And honestly, I am a chicken!  I hate not being able to sleep at night!  D:

Anyway, I felt inspired to do a dark make-up look.  Just dark.  Because there was so much darkness in the story.

You may be disappointed to know that it didn't turn out to be zombie-esque at all.  It turned out to be some kind of a hot clubbing look.  Hahaha!  XD

Oh well~~~  take it or leave it.

Porcelain skin... Not really!

It is no fun when your little sister picks on your face leaving you with nasty scars.

Plus, redness on the chin, sides of the nose, outer corners of the eyes, and glabella (real word, btw... thanks to Google).  And no amount of BB Cream seems to cover it up completely.

So, let me introduce you to a near miracle in a stick.

I must testify that it really helps give off a porcelain fairness and smoothness to the face!

This is how I work with this:

Product
Maybelline Cover Stick Corrector Concealer (Certainly you can use another product ^___^)

Procedure
  1. After toner and moisturizer, which will really help make the concealer glide, apply the green concealer onto the areas of your face with a lot of redness, such as the sides of the nose, mouth, and glubella.
  2. Apply a very thin layer to the rest of your face.  This will neutralize the color of your skin, allowing you to have a blank canvas to work with.
  3. Hide dark circles and other dark spots with a skin-tone concealer.
  4. Apply foundation or BB Cream on your face.
  5. Apply a thin veil of loose powder to mattify your look.
I really want to have good skin but if that would not come naturally, I can at least make an illusion of it.  Hehehe!

But guess what?  This technique I discovered to be so helpful was not originally mine.  Check this video out and Happy "Make-upping"!

Severine Inspired Look

Yes, I did say that I could not make another inspired look until Christmas Break.
And yes, I broke that promise with the Angelina Jolie inspired look.
And yes, I'm about to break that promise again.

☺☺☺

I felt mucho inspired after watching Skyfall last week.  Oh my gosh!  The glam, the spectacle, the action!  Oooh!  The Bond girl!

Severine is so beautiful, I couldn't help gushing.  She has some resemblance to Jennifer Lawrence, doesn't she?  Or should I say the other way around.

Anyway, the look is very glamorous and sultry.  I tried to imitate the darkness of the look- the eyes, the chiseled cheeks, and the lips.

I had a few grievances though.  I misplaced my matte black eyeshadow and had to make-do with a glittered one, and the foundation I used had SPF so it was reflecting light, making my face glow a ghostly (ghastly) white.

So here it is and in the timeless words of Ray Arnolds in Jurassic Park,

"Hold on to your butts!"

I really had fun with this, although I think it could have been made darker around the eyes.  It's one of my first times to play around with such dark colors.  Fun fun fun!

Now, go!  And watch the movie!

Angelina Jolie Inspired Look

Which girl hasn't dreamed of looking like Ms. Jolie in one point of her life?  Maybe if she hasn't seen her.

Cave!

Or in denial...  hehehe!

Anyway, I remember being such a fan in middle school and until now, I still have an admiration for Angelina's beauty and, I guess, acting prowess.

The three day weekend rolled around (which is today until Monday), thankfully! so why not make childhood dreams come true?

What you're about to see is an inspired look and not a total transformation, and with tips from Ms. Phan (hehehe!), I've decided to (of course) incorporate Ms. Jolie's

high arched eyebrows
slim nose
grey eyes
cat eyeliner

and

glorious, glorious lips

And with as much stuff on my face to bake a wedding cake with:

Ok, still looks like me.

Anyway,
how this can turn into...

this...

is why I love make-up ^____^

Colorful Lips

Let's talk about bold colors!
And have everyone staring...
at our lips!

So, I got them traditional reds and pinks to scooch over and make way for oranges and wines.

BRING OUT THE COLORS!

Clinique Chubby Stick in Two Ton Tomato
Details: Wonderfully moisturizing since it's a balm, but there's
a significant hint of color that goes on sheer.  Total love!

★★★
MAC Satin lipstick in Rebel.
Details: Satin finish but goes on bold that I personally
think gives of a mature but fun pop of color to my look.
(Lip colors oftentimes look fuschia on me because of
my skin tone, or in this case, combined with the lighting
and the camera.)

★★★
MAC Amplified lipstick in Vegas Volt
Details: Thick and creamy formula that boasts intense color.
I love it for sweet, innocent looks, but sometimes it looks funny
to be sporting orange lips.  Hehehe!

And with lips so bright, combine them with a more subdued eye make-up: going easy on the eyeshadow where I just highlighted the inner corners of my eyes and added taupe to the crease to add more depth; then, finishing it off with cat eye eye-lining; mascara is not always necessary.

My Beauty Faves, ed. 2

This is the second installment of My Beauty Faves because I've found some new tried and true products

Anyway, some of my beauty foci have changed.  For example, I'm becoming big on eyebrows and thankfully, my facial skin has improved quite significantly, so I don't use BB cream as often anymore.  I just use powder to mattify my skin.  My skin is awfully oily though...  If you have any suggestions/advice as to handle this, I'm calling on you! ^_^

But before I commence with the list, I just want to showcase my BB Cream Boutique haul (once again, I succumb to beauty blogger lingo... -_-)  Service was great as usual: the package came in a week!  They even tried to answer my questions and concerns quickly.  So, super yay! for online shopping.

L-R: Skinfood Red Orange Sun Powder, Etude House Petit Darling Lips Lipstick
in Prudish Purple, Tony Moly Tony Tint in Cherry Pink, Etude House Drawing
Eyebrow AD in Light Brown, Etude House Proof 10 Liquid Liner in BK801
Waterproof Black
(new packaging), and freebies.

Mini Review on Tony Moly Tony Tint in Cherry Pink:
Very watery, no oil or other moisturizing agents.
Very intense color.  I will swatch it on my lips later.

The lip tint does not appeal to me at the moment...  I'm disappointed that it does not moisturize my lips in any way but that's what most lip tints are like, I guess (?)  (As you can tell, I'm quite clueless about this...  :S)  But it's a lovely, bright color and gives off an "I-just-sucked-on-an-ice-pop" look.

Finally, my faves!
Etude House Darling Petite Lip Lipstick in Prudish Purple
What I love about it?
Packaging is the least of my concerns but this one is very cute.  ^^
The color is off in this image but it's a lovely purple pink hue and looks sweet on
my lips.  It's generously infused with glitters- very pretty.  (For better swatches,
Etude House Drawing Eyebrow AD in Light Brown
What I love about it?
The crayon's shape is genius!  It angles and tapers to conform to the the shape of my
brows, making drawing quick and easy.  It also comes with a brush to make the
eyebrows oh-so-shapely and neat.

Proactiv Solution Green Tea Moisturizer
What I love about it?
You know how some moisturizers are labeled with "non-greasy formula,"
and find out that that's not the case?  Well, this one IS NOT one of those!
Wonderfully light and soothing!  It's my favorite moisturizer, ever!

Sante FX Neo eyedrops
What I love about it?
This is how intense I like my eyedrops!  It's super minty and
incredibly refreshing.  I got it from Japan... too bad I don't
know how to get a hold of it outside of Japan.  *sighs*

Kose Vitamin C face mask
What I love about it?
I got this from Japan, also.  My skin feels so healthy after I use it.
And with all that Vitamin C on my skin, yay! ^-^

Fairy Drops Volume Burst Mascara Waterproof
What I love about it?
I've written a positive review about this, and the longer I've had it,
the more I love it! ♥ It's a must have!

And here's my face armed with these products

I felt so pretty and witty and bright!  Hehehe!
(Blush is a photo app stamp, ok?)
