Real Life Sundays, ed. 25

Happy Sunday!

I've been having magical Sundays for the past few weeks.  And yes, that is probably why I haven't been blogging- I am just drinking in the magic *___*

I just feel so blessed!  And these two weeks of much-needed vacation have been so refreshing to my mind and spirit.  As for my physical body, too much food.  ^_^
Gift for myself ^_^  Anna Sui is total cuteness~  Luhvvit!

My little sister really knows me:

Bringing in the new year with bold colors.
Christmas concert and fireworks with my friends❊❊❊

So I tried watercolor painting since I haven't held an art brush for a long time.  I love watercolor because the finished product is always a surprise.

Bringing out the kid within: kite flying on such an amazing day. ^_^
Had dinner with my friend and ended up being goofballs at the annual Christmas
lights setup in Tumon.

Dolly eyed look for my upcoming circle lens review.
✌Peace for this week!  I am back to work in the morning!  :S

Real Life Sundays, ed. 20

As sweet music filled the room, as he and I tried to grab for the cup of tea we were sharing, and as our hands slightly touched (by accident, of course!), I couldn't help but try to figure out how could this moment be any more perfect?

"Ah!  It would be perfect if this dude actually liked me back," I brooded because we are irritatingly stuck in the "Friend Zone."

Then she walked in.  I sat there gawking at her and her legs that came all the way up to her neck.  Tall, slim nose, big brown eyes, and skin without a hint of blemish from ten-feet away.  Super gorgeous girl! "Why now, girl???  Why you come tonight???" and I... slightly died inside.

I looked to my right.  Mr. Friend/Crush- mouth a bit opened.  I couldn't blame him.  Couldn't blame him at all.  At least, he and I can gawk at her in perfect unison.

♥♥♥

So....... there are actually people out there mighty blessed with natural beauty!  Rare breed indeed.  But for the rest of us who are not--- thank You, God, for make-up!  And as to console my uh... wounded heart(?)  pride(?), I have taken my chiyo-est photos of these past 2 weeks and decided to share them with you :)

Oh ok.. this one is not so chiyo.  I'm not a fan of glasses.
Hey my skin is not bad here!  There are apps out there that
smoothen skin, if you don't already know.  But none here!  Haha!
But I guess it's the low-grade front camera of iPhone that makes
 me look so smooth.  Hehehe!
Sunday's best ^____^

Hehehe!  My soul consoled.  You may think I am so vain.  Haha!  Honestly, sometimes.  *blushes*
My Ma calls it, "Nang-gigil ka naman sa sarili mo."  :)  Can't translate it directly but it's something in the line of thinking myself so cute.  :D

♥♥♥

Anywhoots!  This post will not be only about my face!  And here it is!

Went GPO and had a date with myself.  *cries*
Fill up your stamp card and get FREE FOOD!  ^0^
My fat princess: Gen-Gen! =^.^=
My sister in Sunday's best.
My BF in a disc! ♥

♥♥♥
To finish up that story about Mr. Friend/Crush and me:

At the end of the open mic, he got up from his seat, opened the door for everyone while bidding them adieu and helping out other musicians haul out drum sets and guitars.

And he was so kind, even to me.  Throughout the entire evening, if he was not helping others, he would sit with me, talk to me, laugh to the point of almost giggling, and make cutesy faces by scrunching his nose at me.

"Oh, I prayed for one of your students this morning," he said.  "What was her name?  Ah!  Monica."*

"Gosh...  Why is he so kind?"  I thought to myself as I wiped my drippy nose with the sleeve of my cardigan.  I was feeling quite un-pretty because of my cold but he looked so nice in his long-sleeve plaid and jeans.  Quite farmer-like in his get-up, but looked so ruggedly tall and handsome- not unlike Jonathan Scott from HGTVs "Property Brothers," my other BF on screen  (heehee!)

Then, the event closed.  I left through the other exit of the cafe, with no good-byes.

♥♥♥
Despite my gushing, I know I am not yet ready for a relationship...  Seriously!  (And I'm not trying to make the "grapes" look sour.)  There are a few things I need to grow on before I decide to be with someone: patience and peace with my emotions and my self-worth.  And... I am not ready to shop for someone else yet!  Hahaha!

My church sister prayed a beautiful prayer for me in which she talked about patience and self-worth.  I cried because that's exactly what I was praying for.

So, if it's Mr. Friend/Crush, only God knows and time will tell.  I am fine with that.  If it's not him, HOORAY to the world!

Dots 'n' Lace Nail Art Tutorial

I found a really helpful tip on YouTube for nail art dotting tools.

So innovative!  And so obvious!  Why did I not come up with this??? O.o  But since I didn't, I give credit to Cute Polish.  Click on the link below:

This was my dotting tool innovation for the design I showed you on a previous post ("☀Summer Outfit☀"):

I stuck a straight pin on a mechanical (?) eraser for ease of control ^^  Depending on the head size of your pin, you can change the size of your dots.

To get this nail design, it's as easy as 1-2-3-4 ^.^

LET'S START!

You'd need the following, in addition to your innovative dotting tool~~~  Oooo~~~
  1. Blue nail polish
  2. White nail polish
  3. Top Coat
  4. Nail stickers with lace designs

I used:
1. O.P.I. Nail Lacquer in DS magic 2. O.P.I. Nail Lacquer in Happy
Anniversary!
3. Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat 4. Nail stickers
  1. Begin with painting your entire nail with the blue nail polish for two coats.  Allow to dry between layers.
  2. With your dotting tool, dot the white polish on top of your blue polish.
  3. Measure, cut, and stick on the lace design sticker onto your nail, nearest to your nail bed.
  4. Seal with top coat!  AND YOU'RE DONE!  ^0^
That's it!  I hope you enjoy this tutorial!

Black and Pink Sakura Nail Art tutorial

^0^ Waaaaau~~

I've been trying to finish this post for the past hours but I've been gawking over My Weekend with Marilyn.  : )  Michelle Williams gave a splendid performance!  ^^b

Any-kahoots, this is my simple tutorial on cherry blossom-themed nails.  I will try to be as clear as I can since this is not a picture-by-picture tutorial, which people are more keen about.  But what can I say?  Hehehe!  XD

This design is so simple to do, you're gonna laugh because of all the extra time you'll have, say, to read a book or watch a good movie like the one mentioned above. :D

Let's get started, shall we?  ^___^

Black and Pink Sakura nail art tutorial  ❀❀❀

You'll need straight painting guides from a French manicure kit, black, pink, and sheer French pink nail polishes, nail stickers, and top coat.

  • First, apply the painting guides diagonally on your nails.  You can skip this step if you have steady hands, but it makes the job so much easier ;)
  • Second, apply the black and pink nail colors, alternating them between your nails: black on the thumb, pink on the pointer, black on the middle, pink on the ring finger and black on the pinky.
  • Do the opposite diagonal direction with your other hand, with the opposite alternation of colors: pink, black, pink, black, pink.
  • Apply the colors twice.
  • Apply the sheer French pink color over your nails.  (Don't worry, it should be sheer enough that the base colors will still show through.)
  • Apply the nail stickers on the thumb and ring finger.  (Only on two fingers so it wouldn't look overdone.)
  • Lastly, seal with top coat!

1. Sally Hansen French Manicure Kit painting guides  2. Revlon Scented
Perfume Nail Enamel in 305 Sublime Strawberry  3. Sally Hansen HARD
AS NAILS in 880 Black Heart  4. Sally Hansen HARD AS NAILS Sheer
French Color  5. sakura-themed nail stickers  6. OPI RapiDry Top Coat

Yup, that's all!  I'm sure that you will finish this manicure in less time it took me to write this post.  :D  Have fun!

Winter Nails Products and Tutorial

Hello Friends!

I have been quite sick lately.  I caught a bit of that bug that's been going around and I have been feeling really groggy-froggy even at work.  But I am really thankful that this bug didn't become like a flu like my sister's did.  ):

I just wanted to share what I used for my winter nails from the photo I posted last week.

This is really simple to do: you just need a frosty white nail color, blue glitter polish, top coat, and nail gems:

  • I began with OPI Nail Laquer in "Happy Anniversary!"- a frosty white shade reminiscent of snow :)  Coat your nails 3 times to make it opaque.
  • Follow with 1 coat of the glitter polish halfway up your nails from the tip.  I used OPI in "Simmer and Shimmer".
  • Apply another coat of the glitter only on the tip of your nails for the gradient effect.
  • Place gem stones on the tip of your nail with a pair of tweezer for that extra sparkle!  I only put on my thumb and ring finger.
  • Seal your hard work with top coat! :D

Left to Right: Gemstones, OPI Nail Lacquer in "Happy Anniversary!",
OPI Nail Lacquer in "Simmer and Shimmer," and OPI RadiDry Top Coat

Gemstones I found from $1.99 store

I hope my instructions were clear ^^  Enjoy your manicure!

Blue Ain't so Blue

Wanted some happy nail color, and although most people would not consider blue a happy color, with a bit of sparkle, it may be enough to put a smile on this girl's face :)

The Faceshop, O.P.I, and Revlon

Began with OPI Nail Laquer in Ogre-the-Top Blue,
The Faceshop Face it in SL211 painted half way from the tip,
and topped with Revlon's Extra Life No Chip Top Coat.

Finished!
*Twinkle, Twinkle*

Super easy so you'll have more time for other happy things :)  Another plus, this manicure stayed for over 1 week!  And that would certainly put anyone in a good mood~

First Work Week From Christmas Break

It's been a good week!  Even at work!  Yes, I said that already but it's elating because I loooooove, with a cherry on top, vacation, and I just can't be thankful enough that I really enjoyed work right after my precious break.^-^
Here are some of the things I've been doing during the week:

Gen-gen, my tabby, is crazy about her teddy bunny.  It's so cute how she's
trying to drag it in her playpen (shoebox).

Treated myself to some nom-noms~

Hello Kitty for my car.
I had a hard time scouring the island for HK!
Stores are still trying to restock.  I found her finally
at Macy's, and the price was right.  Seriously, some
stores totally hike-up on this darling.

One of my beautiful 언니 gave me these
nailpolishes!  Yay!  Prowide brush!
Some swatches.  I'm painting my nails in the morning.

She gave this, too.  Smells so yum^o^
 >.< Ooo!  I really want a new camera soon!  But patience is a virtue, yah?  I promised myself that I would spend my $$$ on Gen-Gen and her sister first.  They don't have their mommy and they were born in the jungles, but Gen-Gen found her way into our hearts. ♥ Her sister needs a little more time convincing, though.  But I hope she gets convinced soon!  They need to gets the rest of their shots, and to get spayed so they don't have to be thinking about having any babies... ever.  Hence, I have to submit to buying that Panasonic with Leica lens for my birthday instead T^T  And that is a little far.  A new model would have come out by then... wait! which may be a good thing :)
My father also said that he'll build me a white box and buy me new lamps so I can take better photos.  I am a total newbie about photography, and my parents have been incredible supportive.  My parents are the sweetest! ^3^ ~♥
Anyway, I am really ready to conk out!  So, good night for now!  Until next time!
