hi·a·tus: (Noun) A pause or gap in a sequence, series, or process.

Well, I do think that it has been more than just a pause or gap ^____^  My last post was more than 2 months ago.

Why now?  Well... it is...

S P R I N G  B R E A K !

As a warm-up to blogging again, let me enlighten you as to why I've been absent.  Fasten your seatbelts for my oh-so-exciting-it's-mind-blowing life...

February was the month of my back-to-back formal observations at work.  If you don't already know, I am a teacher, and as much as I like being the captain of my ship (or classroom), I have to be observed by my boss for clearances and protocols- wonderfully stuffy things like that.  Also, I now have a mentor who likes meeting and observing my practice twice a week when she said that she would only for twice a month. -__-  Oh well...  With the frequency of our meetings, we have become chummier with each other.

That's it for February!  February = romance?  Nah...  Not this time.  Hehehe ^^;;  Although, I did have this fantastic imaginary scenario of a certain dude I like finally confessing that he actually liked me back, in which he comes up with this elaborate plan of telling me by delivering a bouquet of roses to my work and all of my students "ooh-ing" and "ah-ing" and he, getting down on one knee, asks, "Will you.... eat pasta with me tonight?" and I, blubbering in surprise and gladness, finally squeaks out "yes!" in between sobs and hiccups.

Alas, no such luck!  Grrr...  I blame this imagination to watching one too many dramas!  And believe me: watching one IS one too many!

March was an even busier month because I started taking an introductory class to Christian counseling, called Prayer Ministry.  It started on the last week of February and only finished last weekend.  It was like a "heart surgery" because our hearts, along with its bitterness and intentions, are examined for all to see, within our small groups of 4 to 5 people.  So, the case studies of the class are each other.  Anyway, in all these things, what I came to understood is that God is life-changing.  He loves us the way we are, but too much to leave us that way.*

For the coming months, we can expect that I'll be blogging more infrequently.

Honestly, I don't think I can blog as enthusiastically anymore.  I do not have the time and drive, especially I do have a career that I really enjoy and would like to be awesome in it.  And hopefully this year, I will be starting on my Master's, and when that happens, I really would want to step down from this past-time.

Perhaps, I can squeeze in reviews and devotionals when I can but no pressure! :)  I am telling myself this, at least :)

Until next time!

a Moment for Tea

Have you ever wondered where I got the name for this blog?  Probably... probably not...
But why not coffee?  Why not chocolate?

Coffee is cruel to me, although I love it.  And chocolates...  Hmmm...  I would have loved to name this "a Moment for Chocolate" but it sounds so indulgent.  It is the gentle notes of tea that have truly made the most impact on my memories.

If you have been one of my pioneer readers, I mentioned that I got the idea from that one time when I was drinking tea while writing a paper for class.  My essay was on Noli Me Tangere and the role of women in an oppressive government and an even more oppressive religious system.  (Hehehe... there's a feminist of some extent in all of us.)  Then I started to address passion being a virtue and eventually wrote my first work on my personal Facebook.  The point was that we are constantly being pursued by the most passionate person in History whose thoughts about us are as "countless as the sand on the seashore."  That was a beautiful, I thought...

Actually essay time Fall semester 2010.

Many of the fondest times of my life were shared over cups of tea.

I remember acquiring the taste for that bitter liquid when my mother would make honey-lemon cups of it when I was ill.  Mother had a type of tea for any ailment.  It's funny yet amazing!  Chamomile to soothe sleeplessness.  Black tea for a pick-me-up.  Pomegranate for UTI.  Ginger to comfort an irritated throat.  Mother and tea make sweet memories in my heart.

♥♥♥
Another moment for tea was making some for sick friends.  Just like how Mother made it: honey-lemon black tea, with a hint of ginger.  I would make it perfectly.  : )  My friend tried to make some for herself, but I was the only one who could make it just right.  She said so.  ^__^

One of the most memorable moments for tea I've ever had happened this past summer break.  Summer was fading away and was being quickly replaced by the gloomy rain clouds of fall.  Work would begin a couple of weeks later.

It was a cold morning.  I could not sleep the night before so I got up early to pray and start my chores.  By the time he arrived, it was eight o'clock- too early for most cafes to be open.  But he persisted until we came upon a small, yet lovely one, tucked in the heart of Hågatña.  The warmth of the cup felt good on my fingers.  Green tea for me and vanilla for him.  He was friendly to the barista and even tipped him.

The bricks and the cement of the sidewalk glimmered from the downpour of the night before.  And we walked.  And we talked.  Comfortable enough because we were friends.  And awkward still because we were friends...  It went on as such for a few more minutes until he brought up the topic.  He began by complimenting me.

"You're an amazing woman," he mentioned and those words burned into my head.

"But..." he went on.  "But... I don't want to ruin this friendship.  I just want to stay as friends."

Mustering a wide grin and a puzzled look. "That's exactly what I want!"  I blurted out.

Rewind back a few seconds before he dropped the bomb on me, my honest feelings were of nervousness.  I knew what he was going to say.  And I was also scared because I was not ready, not ready at all, for anything more.  But what can of worms did I just open?  So of course, there was a twang of pain.  Because no matter what wise decisions I wanted to follow, my heart was on the line.  Put simply: a rejection is a rejection.  Hehehe...

Forward after the words that exploded out of my mouth like Old Faithful, it was his turn to look puzzled.  "I just didn't want to lead you on..."  Under his breath but I heard, "I guess I was the one being led on..."

The morning walk continued pleasantly where we talked about politics and God and job applications and ants in cereal.  It was nice.  He said so, too.

The first and the best rejection "date" I've ever had.  Haha!

Well, thankfully, our friendship was not ruined.  It's a little different.  I got to know this person more and found he really is a kind person.  Moody, yes.  Does things without needing the recognition of others.  But hard to read... needs a lot of digging.  Awkward still sometimes.

Once you open a can of worms, you cannot close it to the way it was before.  But ah... now we can go fishing.  ^____^

Update Update Update

Ok, peeps.  I just studied my blog and decided that I MUST write a product review soon.

That'll be my next commitment.  I will write one next week during labor day weekend...  Which one?  Which one?  Make-up, skin care, etc.  You'll just have to wait and see.

I'm just simmering about what I should write about aside from my life, make-up, music, God...  How about more fashion?  Maybe I'll work on that.  I got some incredible deals from Esprit: $18 for a shirt- yes!

That's it!  But for now, I'll let you listen to some music that I am currently ga-ga over.  Couldn't sleep last night at all because of drinking coffee at 8:00 pm.  Ended up getting out of bed and uploading these on my personal Facebook page.  Enjoy!

Blogger Appreciation Award

Thank you!
To Rini who has been so kind as to grace me with this award.  (#^.^#)

She's a sweetie encouraging me along with this blogging business.  As you can see I'm only a noob with a lot of passion and gabbiness.  But I guess those account for something!  ^0^ So, I sincerely offer my thanks again to Rini.

RULES:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award with their blog link on your post.
2. Answer the following 4 questions.
3. Award the blogger appreciation award to as many readers/commenters/followers as you’d like.
4. Let the blogger know you’ve just awarded them (by leaving a comment/email/tweet/etc).

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:
1.  How long have you been blogging?
I've only started last December, although I did have to blog for some of my classes in college.  But those were incredibly boring stuff so those do not count.  ^_^
2.   What are 1-2 reasons why you started blogging?
Reason 1:  I really wanted to write and share about the Lord and I love beauty, so fortunately there are means of melding everything.  Reason 2:  I was really depressed and writing really helped me to cope.
3.    What types of blog do you like to follow/read?
Beauty (of course), cute storyboard, recipes/cookbooks, inspirational/devotional, world issues....  But beauty is my main because of the plenty of pictures.  :P
4.  What is one thing you would like to improve on as a blogger/on your blog?
Gee... where to start???  There is so much I can improve on especially since I've only begun.  I hope to meet more acquaintances through this blog ^^.  I want to be a more knowledgeable blogger.  Be a better photographer, product reviewer, writer, etc. etc.  The list can go on and on until I start talking about cabbages and kings.  So yes!  I can be hypercritical about myself.... (-.-;;)

SHOUT OUT!
goes to:

Beautiful ladies who have been so kind, so admirable, and so down-to-earth, and have given a minute of their time to answer my questions ^_^

New Looks Good

I've just updated my blog design ^____^  I'm growing out of the cramped pink overload of my past design.  I like this mint green theme: more mature, yet much more calming.

I am excited to be writing again, and this new theme compels me to do so...  :)

So, what have you been up to lately?

I thank God that the recent earthquakes in Indonesia did not trigger any tsunamis.  Praying for you there!

It means hope for better things to come.

IT'S MY EASTER BREAK, Y'ALL!

There is no job as gratifying as teaching (unless, you know, if I could be a full-time blogger :D).  (Btw, you can stop that music now).  I feel absolutely blessed that I love my job.  Every day is different.  Every class is different.  Every student is different.  I would not know what I'd do if I were sitting in a cubicle, all alone, in front of a computer, doing the same thing over and over and over again and again and again.  T__T  That is still a job, and it is ideal for some, but not for my ADD self.

*Zoning out*

Anyway, my students and I have fought long and hard to get through the month of March, and if you've noticed- which I hope you have ;)- I've been MIA for nearly a couple of weeks now because I've been doing a lot of cleaning up before the break.

So there you have it!  I am back on the blogging scene!  ONE week, yo!  No work for one week!  :D :D :D

Lahf is good~

Spring Cleaning and Circle Lens Review System

Hi!

It's been a while- about a week since I last blogged.  I miss writing for you, guys!  ^-^

I'm cleaning my blog a bit: organizing the labels and planning for a new layout and logo.  I hope to finish all these during the Easter Break.  I didn't really have time recently because I've been spending my past three weekends with friends and it's again the last weeks of the quarter.  XS  Hopefully, I could just have my quiet weekends spent at home again, writing some blogs (I have so many topics in my head!) and drawing/painting.

Oh...  Soon and very soon!

Next, I want to change some of the way I do my circle lens reviews.  Seems like the category enlargement is so arbitrary, which is many times dependent on the preference of the reviewer.  So, this is the system that I'm coming up with:

1- no enlargement at all; example, clear contact lenses
2- low enlargement, 14.0 mm diameter without bold limbal ring; example Geo Tricolor
3- medium enlargement, 14.0 mm diameter with bold limbal ring; example Geo Honey Wings
4- high enlargement, 14.5 mm diameter; example Geo Hurricane
5- extremely high enlargement, 15.0 mm diameter and above; example Geo Cafe Mimi

I think this system would put some organization and more accuracy with my reviews.  (^.~)v

One more post after this!

Thank You to Cristi's Creation

Take a look!  New background!

It's so kawaii!  I actually stumbled on Cristi's Creation, a blog I absentmindedly clicked on via "Next Blog>>" on the top of the page.  Hehehe!  But am I glad that I did!  It was like treasure hunting/finding.

What do you think of the new look? :)

Please check out her blog by clicking on the ad on my side bar. ^^  All her designs are free!  You will enjoy a generous selection on the same design genre.
